S,T,U and V for Sickness Targets Unsuspecting Victims.

I know, I know...I've been cheating the past couple of posts, trying to string together multiple letters into one clever post, but I have a good excuse.

Since returning from San Francisco last week, I've suffered with a stomach virus, and now a major head and chest cold.  But I'm doing well compared to the youngest fair maiden of the Olsen household.

Since Friday, our little birthday girl, Emma has been battling something we thought was just another cold, until she took a turn for the worst yesterday afternoon.  She developed a fever which quickly spiked to over 104 degrees F.  With timely doses of Tylenol and cold cloth applications, we managed to keep it under control (under 104) until 4 a.m. when she complained of a horrible headache and pain in her back.  Those complaints gave us cause for concern that it could be Meningitis.

A visit to the Emergency didn't confirmed the worst, but that she has some pneumonia on her lungs.  She's at home again now on heavy antibiotics, and we're struggling with fever spikes again, so I've decided to bow out from the A to Z Challenge until further notice. I know you all understand.

I will pick it up again if I'm able, though. Good luck all my fellow writers and I look forward to catching up to reading your once all of this passes.

Gosh Kelly, this is not good news at all.

My thoughts are with you and you little Emma.

The A-Z challenge is the least of your concerns - the health of your daughter, and any family for that matter, takes precedence.

I will look forward to your return, but take all the time you need.

Warmest wishes for a speedy recovery and good health to you and to Emma.

Jenny

Thank you, everyone, for you comments and well-wishes. Emma is doing quite better since starting her antibiotics. I, however, after a visit to my doctor this morning, found out that I also have pneumonia and have started a round of antibiotics myself. I probably had it first, maybe picked it up in San Francisco or on the plane, and then gave it to Emma. It develops much quicker in children than adults. I am assured that we will both be fine.

So sorry for Emma and also you! Not only for enduring your pneumonia, but Emma's as well. It's always easier for a mother to be sick herself than to watch her child suffer.

Hi Kelly,

Just dropping by to find out how you girls are doing.

I hope you've both made a good recovery and that you'll be back in the "posting" saddle in short time.

Take care,
Jenny

Oh my word, when you were talking about flu, headaches and sore backs, my mind skipped to meningitis too. I'm so relieved that it wasn't that bad.

I've just been wondering how you've been doing?
